Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Zeus Publishing ("we", "us") is an academic publisher based in Istanbul, Türkiye. For the purposes of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Zeus Publishing is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

2. What we collect

We collect two kinds of information: what you give us, and what your browser sends automatically.

Information you give us

When you use the contact form or the Author Portal, we receive whatever you enter into those fields:

• Your IP address and browser user-agent string, recorded with each form submission to prevent abuse and spam.
• Standard web-server access logs kept by our hosting provider.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, special categories of personal data (health, religious or political views, biometric data) unless it forms part of research material you are submitting for publication.

3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to.

4. Cookies and tracking

What we do set is the small number of cookies the site cannot work without:

• zpsid — your sign-in session. Set only once you sign in, cleared when you close the browser, and it carries nothing but a random identifier.
• zpremember — set only if you tick Keep me signed in. It lasts 30 days, and it goes when you sign out or remove the device from your profile.
• _GRECAPTCHA — set by Google on the registration, contact and manuscript-submission forms, where we use reCAPTCHA to tell a person from a machine. See section 5.

None of these advertise to you or follow you between sites, which is why you are not asked to consent to them: under KVKK and the GDPR, cookies strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for do not require consent. You are free to refuse them in your browser — you simply will not be able to stay signed in.

The staff area at /admin is reachable only by signing in with a Zeus Publishing account that carries staff permission. It is not open to visitors.

5. Third parties who may see your data

We keep this list deliberately short. Your data may be processed by:

• IONOS SE — our hosting and email provider. The website and its data are stored on a server we operate at IONOS, and email to info@zeuspublishing.com is delivered through IONOS mail servers.
• Google LLC (Google Fonts) — our pages load two typefaces from Google's font servers. Making that request discloses your IP address to Google. If you would prefer this not to happen, most browsers and privacy extensions can block it, and the site remains fully readable with your system fonts.
• Google LLC (reCAPTCHA) — the registration, contact and manuscript-submission forms are protected by reCAPTCHA, which exists to keep automated abuse off them. To decide whether you are a person, Google receives your IP address, your browser and device characteristics, and how you moved and clicked on the page, and it sets a cookie. This is use of your data by Google under their privacy policy, not ours. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the service usable; if you would rather not use it, write to us at info@zeuspublishing.com and we will take your order or your question by email instead.
• Our editors, translators and peer reviewers — where you have ordered a service or submitted a manuscript, the relevant expert receives your document. They work under confidentiality agreements.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.

6. How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not become orders: up to 24 months, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back.
• Service orders and the files attached to them: for the duration of the work and up to 10 years afterwards, where tax and commercial law requires us to keep records.
• Published manuscripts: author names, affiliations and correspondence details form part of the permanent scholarly record and remain published indefinitely.
• Rate-limiting logs (IP addresses): deleted automatically after one hour.
• The address a message was sent from: kept with that message for as long as we keep the message, and visible only to our own staff. It is what lets us tell a genuine enquiry from automated spam. Ask us and we will remove it.

You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see your rights.

7. How we protect it

• The whole site is served over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate.
• Form submissions and uploaded files are stored outside the public web directory, so they cannot be reached by guessing a URL.
• Uploads are restricted to document, image and archive formats; executable file types are rejected.
• Access to submissions is limited to authorised Zeus Publishing staff through a password-protected area.
• Editors and reviewers work under standing confidentiality agreements. We will sign your institution's NDA on request.

No system is perfect. If we ever discover a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the competent authority as required by KVKK and GDPR.

8. Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11 and GDPR Articles 15–22 you may ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold data about you, and give you a copy;
• correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete your data where we have no continuing legal reason to keep it;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• send your data to another organisation in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, where our use rests on consent.

Write to info@zeuspublishing.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer you may complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or, if you are in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.

9. Manuscripts, peer review and AI

Manuscripts sent for editing or submitted to our journals are treated as confidential until publication. In double-blind peer review, your identifying details are removed before the manuscript reaches a reviewer, and the reviewer's identity is not disclosed to you.

If your article is published, the author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers and corresponding-author email you supply are published with it under the CC-BY licence, as is standard scholarly practice.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Where a change materially affects you, we will contact you directly.
